Police Officer Killed and Two Injured in Wintergreen Shooting

Police officer Mark Christopher "Chris" Wagner II was shot and killed after a confrontation with a man in the woods near Arrowood Lane, Virginia. Wagner was called to the Arrowood Lane home after an emergency call came in about an adult male resident having assaulted two other adult males at the residence. Wagner was remembered for his strong work ethic and service to the community. A fund has been established to help Wagner's family as Wintergreen Police is a private police department, so the officer's family is not eligible for state line-of-duty death benefits.
