Police Fatally Shoot Homeowner After Responding to Wrong Address in New Mexico

New Mexico police officers shot and killed a homeowner after showing up at the wrong address in response to a domestic violence call. The officers retreated and fired when the homeowner opened the screen door armed with a handgun. The man's wife returned fire from the doorway, and officers fired again. The woman put down her gun after realizing the individuals outside her home were police officers. The officers involved are on paid administrative leave pending a review of the case. The shooting remains under investigation.
