Pelosi Attacker Apologizes, Receives 30-Year Sentence

David DePape, convicted of the 2022 hammer attack on Paul Pelosi, apologized during a resentencing hearing and was again sentenced to 30 years in prison. The hearing was reopened due to a court error where DePape was not initially given the opportunity to speak. DePape's sentence remains the same, with 30 years for assault and 20 years for attempted kidnapping to be served concurrently. He has been credited for the 18 months already served. DePape also faces a state trial with a hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
