Orthopedic Surgeon Fatally Shot by Patient in Collierville Clinic

A surgeon, Dr. Benjamin Mauck, was shot and killed by a patient who had been waiting at the Campbell Clinic Orthopedics in Collierville, Tennessee for several hours. The gunman spared other patients and employees before firing the handgun and fleeing the scene, but was apprehended by police shortly after. The motive for the shooting is still unknown. Tennessee Senate minority leader Raumesh Akbari called for gun reform in response to the incident.
