"Omaha Substitute Teacher Held on Bond for Alleged Sexual Assault of Teenage Student"

Erin Ward, a substitute teacher in Omaha, appeared in court for the first time after being charged with felony sexual abuse by a school employee for admitting to having sexual relations with a teenage boy. She was held on $25,000 bond and is accused of sexually assaulting the boy more than once. Ward, who was a substitute teacher at Omaha Burke High School, will not be returning to the school district and faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Authorities have placed her on suicide watch.
