Oak Park Detective's Murder: Chicago Man Charged in Fatal Shooting

A Chicago man, Jerell Thomas, has been charged with first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Oak Park police detective Allan Reddins. The incident occurred as Reddins responded to a call about an armed suspect near a bank. Thomas, who has a history of violence against police, opened fire on Reddins, who later died from his injuries. Thomas, also injured in the confrontation, faces additional charges including attempted murder of a peace officer and possession of a stolen firearm.
