NYC Professor Faces Charges for Threatening Reporter with Machete

Shellyne Rodriguez, a former arts professor at Hunter College and the School of Visual Arts, was charged with harassment and menacing after holding a machete to a New York Post reporter's neck and threatening to "chop" him up. Rodriguez, who was fired by Hunter College, had turned herself in to the police and was seen sporting a "FTP" tattoo (for "F–k the police") on her fingers. She had previously made headlines for cursing out Hunter College pro-life students and organizing anti-cop protests in the Bronx. Rodriguez is also the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit against the NYPD for alleged abuse during the 2020 George Floyd protests.
