NOPD faces allegations of leaked information in Vappie investigation.

The New Orleans Police Department has admitted that information on NOPD officer Jeffrey Vappie's investigation was inadvertently released. The investigation into Vappie, who is linked to New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, may have been compromised. The files were leaked to the public as well as members of the media. The Police Monitor is requesting an audit trail for all platforms where evidence was recorded as well as where statements were housed for the investigation. The Police Monitor is also calling for a review of NOPD's security protocol so that other investigation information is not inappropriately released.
