Nebraska Mom Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison for Daughter's Illegal Abortion

A Nebraska mother, Jessica Burgess, has been sentenced to two years in prison for giving her teenage daughter abortion pills and assisting in the destruction of the fetus. The daughter, Celeste Burgess, who was in her third trimester at the time, has also been sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years of probation for burning and burying the fetus. The mother ordered the abortion pills online and the women discussed ending the pregnancy and disposing of the evidence in Facebook messages. The remains of the fetus were later found buried in a field.
