Nebraska Community Mourns Catholic Priest's Tragic Death in Church Attack

A Catholic priest in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, died after being attacked during an invasion at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The priest, Rev. Stephen Gutgsell, was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police responded to a 911 call reporting an attempted break-in and found Gutgsell injured and an alleged attacker inside. The suspect was taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing. Gutgsell had a previous criminal history of embezzlement but authorities do not believe his death is related to it.
