"Multiple Individuals Plead Guilty in Connection to Jan. 6 Capitol Attack"

Richard Ackerman, a 22-year-old man from Salem, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges for his involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, including stealing a Capitol police officer's helmet and throwing a water bottle at officers. He referred to the stolen helmet as his "war trophy." Ackerman's sentencing is scheduled for July 25 in Washington, D.C., and more than 1,300 people have been charged in connection with the Capitol attack.
