"Multiple Arrests Made in Connection to Jan. 6 Capitol Attack"

A Trump supporter, John Emanuel Banuelos, was arrested for allegedly firing two gunshots outside the Capitol during the Jan. 6 attack. He was identified by online "sedition hunters" and footage published by a Jan. 6 rioter. Banuelos, who also fatally stabbed a 19-year-old in Utah, claimed self-defense and was not charged. He made his first court appearance in Illinois after his arrest. More than 1,300 people have been charged in connection with the Capitol attack, with over 950 convictions and about 500 people sentenced to incarceration.
