Multiple Arrests Made After Shooting at West Philly Eid al-Fitr Celebration

Three people were shot during an Eid al-Fitr celebration in West Philadelphia, with 30 shots fired and five people arrested, including a 15-year-old who was shot by a responding officer. The shooting, believed to be between two rival factions, occurred during a gathering of roughly 1,000 people, resulting in a citywide police response and the closure of schools in observance of the holiday. One person was struck by a police vehicle, and the discharging officer has been placed on administrative duty pending an internal review.
