Mother charged in newborn twins' deaths.

A 16-year-old mother in Cleveland has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, gross abuse of a corpse, endangering children, and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of her newborn twins. The infants were found in a trash can along Ludlow Road and appeared to be born early at about 30 weeks gestation. The mother of the teen girl did not know her daughter was pregnant. The girl initially faced a total of nine criminal counts, including a murder charge, but the prosecutor determined that a charge of involuntary manslaughter would be more appropriate.
