Mistakenly Released Murder Suspect Captured After 2-Week Manhunt

A murder suspect, Kevin Mason, who was mistakenly released from an Indiana jail due to a clerical error, has been captured after a two-week manhunt. Mason was initially arrested in connection with a 2021 murder in Minneapolis but was released two days later due to a faulty records review. He was apprehended at a home in St. Paul, Minnesota, by the U.S. Marshals Service. Mason's girlfriend, who assisted him after his release, was also arrested. Two employees of the Marion County Sheriff's Office were terminated due to the incident.
