Missing NC Teen Found Safe in Missouri, Sex Offender Charged

A convicted sex offender, Christopher James Porter, has been charged after a missing 16-year-old girl was found safe in Kirkwood, Missouri. The teenager had met Porter on anonymous social messaging apps and had been in contact with him since July. Porter took advantage of the girl's desire to run away and convinced her to do so. He traveled from Oklahoma to Monroe, North Carolina, to pick her up. Porter is now facing charges including statutory rape, statutory sodomy, possession of child pornography, and sexual exploitation of a minor.
