Minnesota Man Indicted for Stealing Iconic Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers.

The FBI has charged Terry Martin, a 76-year-old man from Minnesota, with stealing the famous red slippers worn by Judy Garland's character Dorothy in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. The shoes were taken from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, in August 2005 and were found in an FBI operation in 2018. The recovered slippers are one of four pairs in existence and are valued at $3.5m. Martin has been charged with theft of a major artwork and the case is being handled by federal prosecutors in North Dakota and the FBI's Minneapolis Division.
