"Minnesota Man Charged with Shooting 5 Officers, Declares 'Today is My Last Day'"

Karl Holmberg, a 64-year-old man from Princeton, Minnesota, has been charged with six counts of first-degree attempted murder and six counts of first-degree assault after shooting five police officers during a narcotics warrant operation. Holmberg had told his wife it was "his day to die" before opening fire. The officers, who were working undercover, announced their presence before entering the home but were met with gunfire. Holmberg's wife reported that he had shown her footage of the police gathering outside and had multiple guns laid out on the bed. The injured officers are expected to survive, and Holmberg surrendered after several hours of negotiations. He appeared in court and argued that he couldn't have known they were police officers because they didn't provide positive identification.
