Middlebury Community Mourns Loss of Missing Teenager Found Dead

Rebecca Ball, a missing autistic teenager from Middlebury, was found dead in a wooded area in Weybridge, Vermont, after a weeklong search. Police have said her death is not considered suspicious, and an autopsy is pending. Volunteers who helped search for Ball gathered to mourn and debrief the search. Between 100 and 150 community members looked for Ball, going door to door, hanging posters, and searching Middlebury on foot and horseback. Ball had run away from home several times before, and some community members are calling for a change in language around missing children.
