Michelle Berka, the mother of a Michigan man accused of making death threats against Democratic politicians, including Governor Gretchen Whitmer, has been charged with lying when she purchased firearms that were later found in her son's possession. Her son, Randall Berka II, was arrested in March and charged with illegally possessing guns. Federal prosecutors allege that Michelle Berka knowingly lied when she bought five guns that were eventually given to another person, with her son being arrested with four of the same firearms. Randall Berka II is accused of making death threats on social media against the president, governor, and people in the LGBTQ community. Michelle Berka faces up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted.
