"Menendez's Troubling Timeline: Controversy, Fatal Crash, and Corruption Allegations"

A retired top policeman, Michael Mordaga, helped New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez's wife-to-be, Nadine Arslanian, leave the scene of a fatal car crash without a sobriety test or handing over her phone. Mordaga, who was on the scene within minutes, assisted Arslanian in leaving behind her totaled car and taking her belongings after questioning the patrolman dealing with the crash. Dashcam footage and 911 recordings suggest that Arslanian did not ask about the victim but refused to have her cellphone searched and provided the wrong location for the crash. Arslanian's role in the crash, which resulted in bribery and corruption charges against her and Menendez, only recently emerged.
