"Massive Human Trafficking Bust: 17 Arrested in Manatee County Operation"

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office in Florida conducted "Operation Refuge," resulting in the arrest of 17 individuals involved in human trafficking and prostitution. Undercover detectives used online ads to lure people seeking minors for illicit sex acts, with 189 individuals responding. Six men were arrested after making arrangements to meet with minors for sex. Additionally, 10 women were arrested on prostitution charges, and one woman was identified as a known victim of human trafficking. Three massage businesses were raided, and charges are pending for the owners and employees involved in alleged criminal activity.
