Maryland Supreme Court to Review Adnan Syed's Conviction in Landmark Case

The Maryland Supreme Court has agreed to review the murder conviction of Adnan Syed, the subject of the popular podcast "Serial." Syed was convicted in 2000 for the killing of Hae Min Lee, but his conviction was vacated by a circuit court judge in September due to problems with evidence disclosure. However, an appellate court panel reinstated the conviction, citing violations of Lee's brother's rights during the hearing. The Supreme Court will hear arguments on October 5th and could potentially wipe away Syed's conviction.
