Maryland Parole Officer Found Slain; Suspect Arrested

Maryland parole officer Davis Martinez was found dead in a registered sex offender's apartment in Chevy Chase. The suspect, Emanuel Edward Sewell, was arrested in West Virginia and charged with second-degree murder. Martinez, a six-year employee of the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services, was the first parole officer in the state to be killed by a client while on duty. Governor Wes Moore ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in his honor.
