Mark Oesterle Violates Bail Terms, Lands in Jail for Sex Offender Case

Former school administrator Mark Oesterle has been jailed after a judge determined that he violated the terms of his bail in a sex offender case. Oesterle, who had been ordered not to use social media, was found to have gone to a coffee shop to use Snapchat over free WiFi. The judge raised his bond from $575,000 to $1 million, cash only. Oesterle had previously pleaded guilty to sexual assault and was sentenced to probation, but he now faces additional charges for violating his sex offender registration in Benton and Washington Counties. Police discovered undisclosed online accounts on his electronics, and he is accused of going to a high school campus in violation of a court order.
