Man charged and indicted for stealing iconic ruby slippers from Judy Garland Museum.

Terry Jon Martin, a 76-year-old man from Grand Rapids, has been charged with stealing the iconic ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in "The Wizard of Oz" from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids more than 15 years ago. The slippers, worth at least $100,000, were recovered during a sting operation in Minneapolis in 2018 and were found to be authentic by conservators at the Smithsonian. Martin has a previous felony conviction for receiving stolen goods.
