Man Brutally Attacked with Hatchet and Run Over in North Austin, Affidavit Reveals

According to an affidavit, a man in north Austin was hit with a hatchet before being run over in a hit-and-run incident. The victim, John Walker Oden, was found with severe lacerations to his neck and head, which were determined to be the cause of his death. The suspect, Brian Christopher Davis, allegedly attacked Oden with a hatchet during a car ride, then forced a woman out of the vehicle before running over Oden. Davis is facing charges of capital murder, evading arrest, robbery, and resisting arrest.
