Long Island nurse arrested for slamming newborn into bassinet

A Long Island nurse has been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child after being caught on video allegedly picking up a two-day old baby and slamming him face-down into his bassinet. The incident occurred while the nurse was in charge of the newborn's care at the neonatal intensive care unit at Good Samaritan Hospital. The nurse was terminated within hours of the incident, and her arraignment has been set for May 2.
