Jaremy Smith, the suspect in the murder of a New Mexico State Police officer, has been linked to the death of South Carolina first responder Phonesia Machado-Fore. Smith, from Marion County, South Carolina, was driving Machado-Fore's car when the trooper was killed. Warrants have been issued for Smith in the murder of Officer Justin Hare, who was fatally shot while responding to a call on Interstate 40. Machado-Fore's body was found in Dillon County, South Carolina, and an autopsy is scheduled. Federal, state, and local authorities collaborated to identify the suspect and locate Machado-Fore.
