McKinley Louisma, a Hiawatha man, has been charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony after admitting to law enforcement that he and another person kidnapped 20-year-old Melody Hoffman, with whom he had an intimate relationship, from a park in Linn County. Hoffman was found dead in Amana with evidence of strangulation, stab, and slash wounds. Louisma's car contained items matching those belonging to Hoffman, and he admitted to details of the kidnapping but did not confess to causing Hoffman's death. The investigation is ongoing, and the other individual involved in the kidnapping has not been arrested.
