Jordan Neely's Family Blames Marine Veteran for Fatal Chokehold

The family of Jordan Neely, who died on a New York subway train after being placed in a chokehold by Daniel Penny, a former US marine, criticised Penny for not offering an apology or expression of regret. Penny's statement described Neely's history of violent and erratic behavior, which the family rejected, saying Penny knew nothing about Jordan's history when he intentionally wrapped his arms around Jordan's neck. Neely's family also criticised New York Governor Kathy Hochul and New York City Mayor Eric Adams for refusing to call Neely's death a "modern-day public lynching."
