JBLM soldier allegedly high on mushrooms during fatal Gorge shooting

The alleged gunman in the Gorge Amphitheatre campground shooting Saturday told police he ingested mushrooms and believed the world was ending when he grabbed a handgun from his Dodge Ram pickup and shot and killed two women who happened to be walking by. U.S. Army Spc. James Kelly of Joint Base Lewis-McChord is now accused in Washington’s Grant County Superior Court of two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and domestic violence assault in the shooting spree that injured three others.
