Investigation launched into inmate death at Androscoggin County Jail

The death of an inmate at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn, Maine is currently under investigation. Trevor M. Saunders, 25, who had been serving a 45-day sentence, was found unresponsive by an officer during a routine check. Life-saving measures were attempted, but Saunders was pronounced dead. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The death does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
