Inmate Allegedly Holds Officer Hostage, Commits Sexual Assault

A South Carolina inmate, Timothy Darren Sherard, has been charged with taking a hostage, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime after allegedly holding a corrections officer against her will, threatening her with a sharp object, and forcing her to have sex with him. The officer had marks on her neck consistent with manual strangulation.
