The body of Henry Jernigan, a previously convicted felon, was found in the back of an abandoned U-Haul truck in Mid-City, Los Angeles. He had been shot in the head and was identified by authorities. Jernigan had served prison sentences for possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm and conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery.
