Houston Mom Leaves 2 Kids Alone for Cruise

A 29-year-old mother from Houston was arrested for leaving her 8-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter home alone while she went on a cruise. Neighbors alerted authorities after noticing her absence, and deputies found the children alone in a disarrayed apartment during a welfare check. The mother returned from her trip and initially lied about her identity. She is charged with abandoning a child with intent to return, and the children have been released to their aunt by Child Protective Services.
