Hours-long standoff in L.A. ends with violent pursuit suspect in custody

A violent pursuit suspect, wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, led Los Angeles police officers on a chase before engaging in an hours-long standoff. The suspect attempted to ram officers and other drivers on the freeway before pulling into a parking lot, where he hit two police cruisers. After being fired upon by officers, the suspect remained in the vehicle for over two hours, acting erratically and waving a screwdriver.
