Homeowner's Quick Thinking Stops Burglary Attempt by Impersonating Maintenance Workers

A Texas man defended his home against two would-be burglars posing as maintenance workers by opening fire through his front door. The incident, captured on doorbell camera footage, shows one suspect attempting to kick down the door while the other wore a mask. The resident fired 13 shots, causing the suspects to flee. One suspect, Aaron Contreras, was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault, deadly conduct, and attempted burglary. The resident expressed relief that his family and neighbors were not present during the incident. The second suspect has not been identified.
