High-speed pursuit ends in arrest of stolen vehicle suspect in LA County.

A woman was arrested after leading police on a multi-county pursuit in Los Angeles County. The suspect was initially pulled over for a welfare check before speeding off on the 5 Freeway and continuing into L.A. County. The compact SUV was hit with a spike strip and continued driving on the highway as the tires began deteriorating. The driver was speaking on the phone throughout the pursuit. Both front tires eventually peeled off as the suspect continued traveling on rims. The chase ended when a patrol vehicle successfully pit-maneuvered the suspect. The woman was taken into custody without further incident.
