Heather Mack, an American woman, has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for her involvement in the murder of her mother during a vacation in Bali nearly a decade ago. She conspired with her then-boyfriend to gain access to a $1.5 million trust fund by killing her mother. Mack, who served time in an Indonesian prison, pleaded guilty to conspiring to kill her mother and was immediately arrested upon her deportation to the U.S. Her then-6-year-old daughter was placed with a relative after a custody fight, while her former boyfriend remains in Indonesia serving an 18-year sentence for the murder.
