Former Hopkinton Deputy Police Chief indicted for child rape of student

Former Hopkinton Deputy Police Chief, John "Jay" Porter, has been indicted on three counts of child rape that allegedly took place in 2004 and 2005 while he was a school resource officer. Porter had been placed on leave last year and was removed from the police department as of Friday. He had been with the Hopkinton Police Department since 1992 and had been honored for his 30 years of service in July. The town manager and police chief released a statement saying they were "deeply disturbed" by the allegations.
