Former Employee's Deadly Shooting Spree Ends in Fatal Confrontation with Deputies

A former employee of a shipyard in Harvey, Louisiana, who was terminated within the last week, shot and killed two of his coworkers. The suspect called his mother to pick him up at the shipyard, and she drove him to an apartment complex where he was shot and killed by Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office deputies after opening fire on them. No deputies or residents were injured, but other apartments were damaged. The names of the suspect and victims have not been released.
