Florida Woman Escapes Months-Long Captivity and Torture in Tampa Bay Area

A woman was rescued by Hillsborough County deputies after enduring months of abuse and torture by Walter Medina, who kidnapped her in January and held her captive in the Tampa Bay area. Medina was arrested after a police chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies. The victim escaped when Medina left her alone for a moment and sought help at a gas station. Medina faces numerous charges, including attempted second-degree murder and armed kidnapping.
