Florida man exonerated and released after 400-year sentence for wrongful conviction.

Sidney Holmes, a Florida man who was sentenced to 400 years in prison for an armed robbery, is expected to be released from prison after spending more than 34 years behind bars. An investigation by the Broward State Attorney’s Office conviction review unit found he had a plausible claim of innocence. The unit found there was no evidence linking him to the crime, and that a misidentification of his vehicle may have contributed to his conviction. Holmes is expected to be released from custody in April.
