"Florida Couple Found Drunk on Beach, Children Left Unattended"

A Georgia couple was arrested in Volusia County after being found intoxicated and asleep on the beach while their young children were unsupervised, with the father charged with two counts of child neglect and possession of alcohol on the beach. Deputies located the couple after an anonymous caller reported the situation, and found the children swimming unsupervised in a nearby pool. The children, not biologically related to the father, were unharmed. The father attempted to escape but was apprehended after a brief pursuit and hospitalization. The mother was also arrested for child neglect.
