Final Trial Begins for Foiled Plot to Kidnap Michigan's Governor

The final trial is set to begin for the last defendants accused of participating in a foiled plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer nearly three years ago. Eric Molitor and brothers William Null and Michael Null, described as anti-government extremists, were among 14 men charged in the scheme. The plotters, members of paramilitary groups, planned to attack the state Capitol and police to ignite a civil war. Nine men have been convicted so far, and two were acquitted. The defendants face charges of providing material support for terrorist acts and illegally possessing firearms. The trial will take place in Antrim County, Michigan.
