Female Cop in Michigan Alleges Relentless Harassment by Department.

Teresa Williams, the first female officer in the history of Iron Mountain's police department, has filed a federal lawsuit against three Iron Mountain officers alleging sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, a hostile work environment, and retaliation. Williams was relentlessly harassed and assaulted during her 4½ years there and ultimately resigned. The lawsuit names the department’s top two supervisors, Ed Mattson and Joseph Dumais, and Garth Budek, Williams’ former patrol partner, as defendants. Williams and her attorney believe police in Iron Mountain are insulated from checks-and-balances systems to hold the powerful accountable that are available in bigger communities.
