FBI withholds evidence in Alex Pretti case, Minnesota investigators say

The FBI has formally refused to share evidence in the Jan. 24 killing of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, which Minnesota's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension calls concerning and unprecedented. The BCA says it will pursue legal avenues to obtain materials and would welcome a joint investigation if the stance changes. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty plans to demand the evidence from the DOJ and DHS; Pretti's family has urged a joint state-federal probe. A restraining order to protect evidence at the scene was briefly issued before being lifted.
