Father Takes Deadly Revenge on Driver Who Killed His Son

A father in Person County, North Carolina, is in custody after shooting and killing a driver who hit and killed his son with a truck. The family had run out of gas and was walking when a Department of Corrections truck driven by a probation officer crashed into the youngest member of the family. The father, Chad Woods, shot the driver, Jeffrey Makay, in a state of distress. Makay died before reaching the hospital. Woods and the surviving family member then took Makay's truck and drove home. Woods has been charged with second-degree murder and larceny of a motor vehicle.
