Fatal Shootout with Deputies: New Details Released in Greenville Co.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has released additional details about a fatal shootout that occurred in September at The Trophy Club in South Carolina. Deputies and a Greenville Police Department officer responded to reports of a man discharging a firearm in the parking lot. The individual, identified as Matthew Edward Healey, was engaged by law enforcement, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. Healey was injured and later pronounced dead at the hospital. The incident is still under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to determine if the officers' actions were within the scope of the law. Both the deputy and the officer involved have been cleared by their respective offices after internal investigations.
